If your CDP extractor “isn’t working”:

Navigate to your Trainz installation directory (usually found under C:\Program Files\N3V Games\ or your Steam library path) and look for the bin folder containing TrainzUtil.exe .

The user chooses an output folder. The extractor writes each asset as a containing the raw source files (e.g., .config.txt , .tga or .png images, .wav sounds, .pm or .im meshes).

You don't have to take everything. You can select a single locomotive or building and export it as its own separate, smaller CDP file.
